The way people who don't live in Machida see it #There is Machida

Member Introduction

Asilla, an AI startup, is headquartered in Machida City, Tokyo.

The first time I heard the word Machida was when I was in my first year of high school and heard that someone in my class went to school from Machida. The high school was in Takadanobaba, and I went there from Meguro. My first impression was that I wondered what kind of faraway countryside he was coming from (I'm sure I will get booed from within the company for writing this).

In hindsight, it comes from the narrowness of children's range of activities and their low cognitive ability.

As I recall, 20 years ago I lived in Aobadai, Yokohama, a neighborhood of Machida, and Machida is a more splendid town by comparison.

Since I became involved with Asilla, I have visited Machida more often and have come to appreciate its advantages.

Here are three advantages of Machida that I, who grew up in the city, feel.

1.cheap and delicious meal eaten quickly

There is a wide variety of delicious ethnic, Chinese, Italian, seafood, and Japanese restaurants. And since it is not crowded like in the city center, you can usually get into a restaurant without waiting in line. All are within a 5-minute walk from our office. Prices are also cheaper than in central Tokyo, making it easy on the wallet.

One of the most famous restaurants is Koshido, which serves Mediterranean cuisine.

▲What was disappointing recently was that one of my favorite restaurants that I used to frequent has closed (maybe due to Corona?).

2.Lots of greenery.

It is located in the middle of the Tama Hills, so there are many hills and greenery if you go a little further. Incidentally, there is also Kodomo no Kuni (part of which I learned for the first time was in Machida City).

Surprisingly, there are many visitors to the "Squirrel Garden.

Incidentally, Asilla is sponsoring FC Machida Zelvia.

3.Cheap parking

There are times when I really need to drive, but the cost of parking in central Tokyo is so high (some places charge 800 yen per hour) that I hesitate to do so.

▲ Machida is a whopping 1,000 yen per day. This is very much appreciated.

The distance between Machida and Otemachi is about one hour or less by train, closer to the city center than expected, and it may be just the right town for you to live in with a variety of necessities for food, clothing, and shelter.

It used to be a bad area in front of the station, but it has been completely cleaned up by urban planning. Some of our company members live in Machida, and they seem to be highly satisfied with the area.

Asilla, which is headquartered in Machida, is looking for people who are willing to eat together with us.
