2015 Founded Asilla Vietnam and assumed the position of CEO
There are two reasons why we decided to launch Asilla in 2015.
First, 90% of IT companies in Vietnam in 2015 are outsourcing, taking advantage of the low labor costs.
Over time, however, as this labor force becomes sufficiently qualified and IT firms become sufficiently financially strong, they will gradually shift to making their own products, which are more valuable than outsourcing, as has happened in India and China.
Labor costs will rise accordingly, and companies that outsource will lose their advantage. In light of this situation, we decided to follow the path of making our own products from the very beginning of Asilah's existence.
The second reason is that our founder is a software engineer and knows that traditional software development will not bring high value in the future.
Therefore, our desire is to own the core technology and create high-tech products.
When Asilla was founded, our only goal was to create highly technical products, but it was not clear what we should do next. Therefore, the most difficult question was what kind of product to develop. To address this issue, we held idea-thon sessions where we shared new ideas and selectively built products based on them. Many of them failed, but some of them became Asilla's flagship products. We still hold idea sessions every year.
We simply choose what we do best and what the market needs. with IVA (Intelligent Video Analytic), there are few special problems such as language differences, as there are with NLP and speech recognition. Therefore, even our engineers who do not speak Japanese can completely solve the problems of the Japanese market. Furthermore, it also facilitates internationalization of our products.
Asilla has spent the first five years of its existence facing many challenges, including choosing a direction, discovering its strengths, and capturing the needs of the market. The next phase will focus on refining core technologies and launching SDK products and SDK-related systems.
Challenges remain for Asilla, but we are confident that by combining the experience of the first generation with the younger generation, Asilla will achieve its major goals in the near future.
In the future, Asilla's main goal now is to go public in 2023. After that, we would like to expand our business to overseas markets such as Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America, and make Asilla's influence in the field of IVA a global one.
Asilla has a culture that welcomes dynamic work and challenges. There are always opportunities to try new things. Our expectation of talented young people is that they will continue to grow in this environment, taking on challenges and accepting failure.
