This marks the first introduction of "AI Security asilla" at a commercial facility in Nagasaki Prefecture.
In operating a commercial facility, creating an environment where visitors can spend their time comfortably and safely is essential to enhancing the value of the facility. At the same time, security sites that support facility safety face a growing labor shortage, creating a need for systems that maintain safety across the entire facility with limited personnel.
Through the operation of AMU PLAZA NAGASAKI, JR Nagasaki City has worked to create an environment where visitors can feel at ease. Since the opening of the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, the facility has become the "land gateway to Nagasaki," welcoming visitors of all generations from within and outside the prefecture, and JR Nagasaki City is working to further strengthen its safety management system.
As part of these efforts, and to advance facility safety management using AI technology, JR Nagasaki City decided to introduce "AI Security asilla" in collaboration with JR Kyushu SECOM, which is responsible for security at the facility. By incorporating AI video analytics into its security system, the facility aims to enhance security quality across the entire facility even with limited personnel.
"AI Security asilla" has been officially introduced at AMU PLAZA NAGASAKI, operated by JR Nagasaki City. With the aim of advancing security and improving visitor safety, AI video analytics using footage from existing security cameras will enable early detection of abnormal behavior and behavior requiring attention within the facility.
Operation began in October 2026.
1. Early detection of falls and sudden illness, and rapid response
AI detects falls, signs of illness, and similar incidents within the facility in real time and immediately notifies security staff. Because security staff can grasp the situation right away, initial on-site response is accelerated.
2. Early awareness of situations requiring attention and initial response to risks
AI detects situations that could lead to accidents or trouble, such as people crouching down, prolonged loitering, or entry into restricted areas. Security staff can check the situation at an early stage and respond, for example by speaking to the person, helping to prevent trouble before it occurs.
3. Improving security quality through collaboration between AI and people
Continuous video analysis by AI supports security staff in their patrols and monitoring. By reducing oversights while creating an environment in which staff can concentrate on on-site judgment and response, the facility will raise security quality across the entire facility.
Through these initiatives, the facility will create an environment where visitors can feel at ease and contribute to enhancing its value as the land gateway to Nagasaki.
AMU PLAZA NAGASAKI is a large-scale commercial facility adjacent to JR Nagasaki Station and one of the leading commercial facilities in Nagasaki Prefecture. "AI Security asilla" is a system in which AI analyzes footage from existing security cameras 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, instantly detecting abnormal behavior such as violence, falls, and intrusion, as well as behavior requiring attention such as wandering, crowding, and signs of illness.
