Asilla, Inc. (Headquarters: Machida, Tokyo; CEO: Go Onoue; hereinafter "Asilla"), whose vision is "Creating a safe and comfortable world through the power of technology," is pleased to announce that it will begin a proof-of-concept trial in October 2026 at Rinku Premium Outlets, operated by Mitsubishi Estate Simon Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda, Tokyo; President: Kiyoshi Ota; hereinafter "Mitsubishi Estate Simon"), using its AI security system "AI Security asilla" and its people-flow data utilization platform "asilla BIZ."

Background of the Trial

At large commercial facilities that welcome many visitors, the use of AI and other advanced technologies is spreading as a means of raising the level of safety and security. In particular, approaches that analyze footage from security cameras already in place are attracting attention as an option that requires no new capital investment.

Mitsubishi Estate Simon is a developer that operates 10 Premium Outlets centers across Japan. The company places great importance on creating an environment where customers can spend their time with peace of mind, and continuously works to enhance its security and safety measures alongside increasing the appeal of its facilities.

As part of these efforts, the company has decided to conduct a trial at Rinku Premium Outlets. Located across the water from Kansai International Airport, the facility is one of the largest outlet malls in the Kansai region, and is known for its open outdoor spaces, including the Seaside Area facing Osaka Bay.

Through this trial, the companies will verify the effectiveness of continuous monitoring using behavior recognition AI, with the aim of building a new security model that achieves both "further enhancement of safety and security" and "more advanced security operations." The trial will also verify the effectiveness of utilizing people-flow data obtained from the same camera footage, helping to further improve visitor comfort.

Overview of the Trial

The trial will be conducted at Rinku Premium Outlets, operated by Mitsubishi Estate Simon, using the AI security system "AI Security asilla" and the people-flow data utilization platform "asilla BIZ."

To ensure safety and security across the facility's expansive outdoor spaces and to enhance visitor comfort, AI video analytics using footage from existing security cameras will be used to detect abnormal behavior and visualize people-flow data.

Key Initiatives

1. Improving security quality through AI video analytics

AI analyzes footage from existing security cameras to detect abnormal behaviors and behaviors requiring attention, such as falls and signs of physical distress.

In addition to providing continuous monitoring across the expansive outdoor spaces, including the Seaside Area, the trial will confirm the effectiveness of operations tailored to actual facility management by flexibly configuring detection conditions according to time of day and area.

2. Advancing security operations through collaboration between people and AI

AI detects people who may need assistance, such as those feeling unwell, at an early stage and notifies security staff.
By establishing a framework in which security staff can respond quickly based on AI detection, and by dividing roles between people and AI, the trial aims to further improve security quality.

3. Creating a comfortable environment by visualizing people-flow data

Using "asilla BIZ," congestion levels by area and people flow by time of day will be visualized from the same camera footage. By identifying the locations and times where congestion tends to occur, the data will help create an environment in which the diverse range of visitors from Japan and abroad can spend their time more comfortably, for example by informing the placement of signage and multilingual guidance, the review of visitor circulation routes, and the planning of rest areas and facilities.

Through this trial, the companies will verify the effectiveness of a utilization model that integrally achieves enhanced safety and security, more advanced security operations, and improved visitor comfort.

About "AI Security asilla"

"AI Security asilla" is a system that analyzes footage from existing security cameras 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, instantly detecting abnormal behaviors such as violence, falls, and intrusions, as well as behaviors requiring attention such as loitering, crowding, and signs of physical distress. Amid a growing shortage of security personnel, it captures incidents that human monitoring can easily miss and immediately notifies security staff and facility managers. Because it works with existing cameras, no additional equipment investment is required, making it a next-generation security solution that maintains a high level of safety even with limited staff.

About "asilla BIZ"

"asilla BIZ" is a platform that uses AI to analyze footage from existing security cameras and visualize people-flow data, such as the number of people passing through a facility, congestion levels, and visitors' gender and age groups. By quantifying usage patterns that were previously difficult to see, it supports the optimization of security staffing, cleaning, and customer attraction initiatives. Because it works with existing cameras, no dedicated sensors are required, making it a next-generation data utilization solution that enhances the value of spaces at low cost.
