Asilla Inc. (Headquarters: Machida, Tokyo; CEO & COO: Takeshi Onoue), whose mission is "Creating a safe and comfortable world through the power of technology," announces the release of a new fire and smoke detection feature for AI Security asilla.

Development Background

Asilla has provided AI Security asilla to numerous commercial facilities, mixed-use complexes, and office buildings. Through these deployments, many customers expressed the desire to detect fire risks in outdoor areas and blind spots more quickly, leading to the development of this feature.

Large-scale facilities with high foot traffic typically have sophisticated fire alarm systems throughout their interiors. However, outdoor areas and building exteriors inevitably have fire prevention blind spots that existing equipment cannot fully cover.

Previously, monitoring these blind spots relied on security guard patrols and visual monitoring of camera feeds. However, having humans monitor hundreds of cameras around the clock to catch every fire incident is extremely challenging.

This feature transforms existing surveillance cameras into "AI eyes," instantly notifying facility managers when fire or smoke conditions are detected in these blind spots, supporting enhanced facility safety.

Note: Fire and smoke detection is subject to certain constraint conditions.

Future Outlook

With this feature, a new fire prevention mechanism using existing cameras is now possible even in outdoor areas, building exteriors, and blind spots where conventional fire alarm equipment and continuous monitoring were previously insufficient. By utilizing cameras as "AI eyes," Asilla aims to evolve overall facility safety management into something more reliable and effective. Asilla will continue developing technology tailored to on-site challenges, supporting advanced fire prevention and safety management.

About AI Security asilla

AI Security asilla analyzes existing security camera footage 24/7 using AI, instantly detecting abnormal behaviors (violence, falls, intrusions) and concerning behaviors (loitering, crowding, signs of illness). As security staffing shortages intensify, the system captures anomalies that human monitoring might miss, instantly notifying security personnel and managers. With no new equipment required—leveraging existing cameras—it maintains high safety with limited staff as a next-generation security solution.
