Asilla Inc. (headquarters: Machida, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Go Onoue; hereinafter “Asilla”), which pursues the vision of “creating a safe and comfortable world through the power of technology,” participated as one of the Japanese companies in the 1st Japan–Saudi Arabia Public–Private ICT Policy Dialogue, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on September 1, 2026.

This policy dialogue is based on the memorandum of cooperation in the ICT field concluded between Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in 2019, and this marks the first time it has been held as a joint public–private framework. In addition to information sharing and an exchange of views among policy officials from both ministries, Japanese companies introduced their services and technologies, and the discussion addressed how Japanese information and communications technology can contribute to realizing the national strategy Vision 2030.
Under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is advancing economic diversification and digital transformation, with AI positioned as a core foundational technology. As large-scale urban development and infrastructure projects proceed in parallel, a practical challenge in Saudi Arabia is how to embed technology in the field and make it work in day-to-day operations.
As the only startup among the participating Japanese companies, and as a company that handles everything from AI development and delivery to post-deployment operation in-house, Asilla focused its remarks on the perspective of technology that is actually used in the field.
Specifically, Asilla introduced the technology behind its behavior-recognition AI “AI Security asilla” and the realities of the real-world deployments it has advanced in Japan. It also shared its technology development efforts for the next stage, including its proprietary VLM (Vision Language Model), which combines video and language to understand situations. Building on this, Asilla outlined how its solutions could contribute to smart city projects tied to Vision 2030 by utilizing existing security cameras to enhance facility safety while limiting capital investment.
Drawing on the local needs and policy trends identified through this policy dialogue, Asilla will continue to advance business development in the Middle East. The company will keep engaging in dialogue with partner companies and local stakeholders so that the real-world deployment expertise it has built in Japan can support Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation.

“AI Security asilla” is a system in which AI analyzes footage from existing security cameras 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, instantly detecting abnormal behavior such as violence, falls, and intrusion, as well as behavior requiring attention such as wandering, crowding, and signs of poor physical condition. Amid a worsening shortage of security personnel, it captures irregularities that are easy to miss with human monitoring and immediately notifies security staff and facility managers. Because it works with existing cameras as they are, no additional capital investment is required, making it a next-generation security solution that helps maintain a high level of safety even with limited staffing.
