Asilla Inc. (Headquarters: Machida, Tokyo; CEO: Go Onoue; hereinafter "Asilla"), whose vision is "Toward a safe and comfortable world through the power of technology," is pleased to announce the publication of a case study on the deployment of its AI security system "AI Security asilla" at SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE, a large-scale mixed-use complex where Tokyu Security Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya, Tokyo; President & CEO: Junro Yamanaka; hereinafter "Tokyu Security") provides on-site security services.

Tokyu Security's Deployment of "AI Security asilla"

SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE, directly connected to Shibuya Station, welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every day. With 650 cameras installed throughout this vast facility, relying on human eyes alone to keep it safe had reached its limits.

"With the AI monitoring around the clock, we can now cover areas that human eyes alone could not, while concentrating our limited personnel on higher-priority duties."

Tokyu Security, which provides security services for the facility, operates "TS-Zero®," a security operation service that integrates AI detection by "AI Security asilla" with on-site response by security officers. What has changed on the ground since full-scale operation began in April 2026, following a proof-of-concept trial? We spoke in depth with Captain Toshiyuki Kakizaki of the SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE security team about the background of the deployment and its impact on the ground.

If you are considering restructuring the security operations of a large facility or exploring AI-powered safety management, we encourage you to read this case study.

Challenges Before Deployment

SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE is a 47-story large-scale mixed-use complex housing offices, a co-creation facility, retail space, and the observation facility "SHIBUYA SKY." Thanks to its direct connection to Shibuya Station, it attracts a wide range of visitors every day, including office workers, shoppers, and tourists from Japan and abroad.

While 650 cameras are installed throughout the facility, covering all of them with human eyes alone was difficult. With limited personnel, the facility needed a framework that could improve monitoring efficiency and enhance security quality at the same time.

Results After Deployment

Tokyu Security connected 50 of the existing cameras — those covering high-traffic areas that had been priority patrol targets — to "AI Security asilla." Since the start of full-scale operation, the following results have been observed on the ground:

  • Approximately 100 hours of patrol time reduced per month: With the AI continuously covering priority patrol areas, patrol time has been reduced by roughly 3 hours per day, or approximately 100 hours per month, which has also helped ease the physical burden on security officers.
  • Faster flow from "awareness" to "judgment" to "response": Because an alert is raised the moment the AI detects an anomaly such as a fall or a person feeling unwell, the process from video confirmation to on-site response has become dramatically faster.
  • Safety management and nuisance-behavior response, both at once: In addition to urgent incidents such as falls on escalators, the team can now identify and respond in real time to nuisance behaviors such as skateboarding in prohibited areas and people sleeping on the premises at night.
  • Standardized response quality: With the AI handling the "awareness" stage, response quality no longer depends on the individual skills or experience of each security officer — the same standard of response is now possible regardless of who is on duty.

For Facility Managers and Security Professionals Facing These Challenges

  • You feel the need to restructure the security operations of a large or mixed-use facility
  • You have many cameras installed, but feel the limits of monitoring them with human eyes alone
  • You want to reduce the patrol burden on security officers while maintaining and improving security quality

We invite you to explore this case study as a real-world example of how these challenges can be addressed.

About "AI Security asilla"

"AI Security asilla" is a system in which AI analyzes footage from existing security cameras 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, instantly detecting abnormal behaviors such as violence, falls, and intrusions, as well as behaviors requiring attention such as loitering, crowding, and signs of poor physical condition. Amid an increasingly serious shortage of security personnel, the system captures anomalies that are easily missed by human monitoring and immediately notifies security officers and facility managers. Because it works with existing cameras as they are, no additional equipment investment is required — a next-generation security solution that maintains a high level of safety even with limited personnel.
