Asilla, Inc. (Headquarters: Machida City, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Takeshi Onoue; hereinafter "Asilla"), which pursues the vision of "creating a safe and comfortable world through the power of technology," and Charm Care Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka; Representative Director, Chairman and CEO: Takahiko Shimomura / Representative Director, President and COO: Shiro Kokaji; hereinafter "Charm Care"), an operator of fee-based nursing homes with care services, today announced that they have entered into a capital and business alliance agreement with the aim of co-creating AI-assisted resident monitoring for nursing care settings.

This is Asilla's first capital and business alliance with a nursing care provider.

Background to the Capital and Business Alliance

Since its founding in 2015, Asilla has focused on the research and development of behavior recognition AI that understands human behavior from video. In 2022, the company released "AI Security asilla," an AI security system built on this technology, which is now in use at approximately 200 sites including commercial facilities, office buildings and railway stations. Asilla has extended the expertise gained through this business, together with its proprietary behavior recognition AI technology, into the nursing care and welfare field, where securing human resources has become a pressing challenge.

Charm Care, which operates fee-based nursing homes with care services nationwide, has set as a management goal a virtuous cycle of improved productivity and better working conditions for its staff, and has been a front-runner in digitalizing its care sites. As a further step, while exploring the use of AI to support situations where staff attention is difficult to maintain, the company took note of Asilla's behavior recognition AI, and since 2024 the two companies have collaborated on proof-of-concept trials and other initiatives at facilities operated by Charm Care.

This track record of business co-creation, together with an appreciation of Asilla's proprietary behavior recognition AI technology, has led to the capital and business alliance announced today.

The Two Companies' Initiatives to Date

In 2024, the two companies launched a proof-of-concept trial at "Charm Premier Mejiro Otomeyama" (Shinjuku City, Tokyo), a fee-based nursing home with care services operated by Charm Care. The scope was subsequently expanded to "Charm Shin-Osaka Awaji" (Osaka City, Osaka) and "Luna Heart Senri Oka no Machi" (Suita City, Osaka), and over roughly one and a half years the AI has been repeatedly refined to suit real-world care settings. Drawing on the insights gained through these trials, Asilla released "asilla care," a monitoring-support system for nursing care and welfare facilities, in April 2026.

Through this capital and business alliance, the two companies will further expand the use of "asilla care" at facilities operated by Charm Care, and will continue to refine the AI so that it is well suited to care settings.

Principal Areas of the Business Alliance

With the aim of driving the digital transformation of resident monitoring in nursing care settings, the two companies will jointly examine and roll out initiatives that combine Charm Care's care operation expertise with Asilla's behavior recognition AI. The principal areas currently envisaged are as follows.

1. Joint development and enhancement of AI models specialized for nursing care settings

By combining Charm Care's on-site care expertise with Asilla's behavior recognition AI, the two companies will jointly develop AI models suited to nursing care settings.

2. Strengthening monitoring frameworks through the use of asilla care

The companies will expand the use of "asilla care" at facilities operated by Charm Care, strengthening monitoring frameworks so that situations requiring attention — such as falls, wandering away from the facility, or prolonged periods spent in one place at night — can be identified at an early stage.

3. Joint study of new care operations with an eye to the future

Beyond improving operational efficiency with "asilla care," the two companies will jointly study how remote monitoring and support might be combined in the future to realize new care operations that maintain both safety and service quality even with limited staffing.

The alliance is expected to deliver both further improvements in the safety and peace of mind of residents and a reduction in the burden on frontline staff.

As the population ages and the need to secure care workers grows, the two companies will contribute to the realization of a sustainable care delivery system through AI-assisted monitoring.

Comments from the Representatives

Takahiko Shimomura, Representative Director, Chairman and CEO, Charm Care Corporation

Guided by our philosophy of respecting the values of each and every customer, we have worked to raise the quality of our care services and to create an environment in which our staff can work more comfortably.

As securing human resources becomes an ever greater challenge for the nursing care industry, we believe it will be difficult to continue providing sustainable care services simply by carrying on with care as we have practiced it until now. At the same time, nursing care is work in which a great deal of value arises from human interaction, and the purpose of introducing technology is by no means to replace people.

Through our trials with Asilla to date, we have come to appreciate that AI monitoring technology holds significant potential both to support the safety and peace of mind of our residents and to reduce the workload on staff, freeing up time for them to engage with each resident individually.

Taking this capital and business alliance as our starting point, we hope to combine the on-site care expertise we have cultivated with Asilla's outstanding behavior recognition AI technology — not only to further evolve "asilla care," but to co-create with Asilla the very shape of the new care operations that the coming era will demand.

Using technology to further enhance the value of care that only people can provide: this is the sustainable future of nursing care we will pursue together with Asilla.

Go Onoue, Representative Director, CEO  Asilla, Inc.

We are honored to have concluded this capital and business alliance with Charm Care. Over the past year and a half since 2024, we have refined our AI together with Charm Care while receiving a great deal of feedback from actual care settings. We are truly delighted that this accumulated work has borne fruit in the form of "asilla care" for nursing care and welfare facilities.

What we value is not having AI replace people's work, but supporting staff so that they can devote more of their time to the care that only people can provide.

Through this alliance, we will continue to do everything we can to deliver both safety and peace of mind for residents and a lighter burden for those working on the front lines.

About "asilla care"

"asilla care" is a system in which AI analyzes footage from a facility's existing security cameras in real time and rapidly detects anomalies such as falls, wandering and unsteadiness among residents.

Detection takes approximately one second from the moment an incident occurs, and details are sent immediately to staff smartphones or intercoms, enabling staff who are at a distance or engaged in other tasks to respond quickly.

No new sensors or large-scale construction work are required; the system can be introduced as an addition to a facility's current equipment environment.
